Half-full had the pleasure of working with our great hometown  City of Lancaster and the wonderful folks at LIVE Green to launch a campaign to encourage residents to help prevent 750 million gallons of rainwater from entering its combined sewer system. Sounds boring? Anything but. This water is the prime pollutant of the Chesapeake Bay and by cleaning it up the City will save thousands of dollars in fines from the EPA, help preserve clean drinking water, and continue to build a healthy, vibrant community here in Lancaster.

Half-full helped LIVE Green nail the Save It! Lancaster campaign– with a new logo, a web portal of information (www.saveitlancaster.com), and a plethora of marketing materials, in English and in Spanish, to help get the word out.

Now get out there and Save it, Lancaster!

Looking for some fabulous tips on how to be fashionable without breaking the bank? Check out Style Me Thrifty, the brainchild of the super sytle-ey Maddy Breen. Half-full loved working with Maddy to create a  logo that reflected her saucy brand.

Maddy’s useful tips and witty advice (how to properly  wear colored tights, what to wear to a baby shower, and how to turn your dad into a fashion maven) help readers look and feel good without spending a fortune. And, she’s a woman after our own hearts: she spends much of her time in the marketing department of the Nature Conservancy. She’s bringing much needed style to the Enviro movement! So long birkenstocks, hello wedge booties!

Half-full has been working away on one of our most exciting projects ever: The Super Power Magic Motion Machine. What is it? It’s a custom-made piece of art that transforms into a pedal-powered generator, allowing three other bikes to hook to its mobile trailer and create electricity. What will it power? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see…..

I recently had the pleasure of working with Megan Scott on her fabulous cooking blog, Little Gem. After maintaining the blog on her own for the past year, Megan began receiving a bunch of praise, hits, and interest from a local and national audience. She realized it was time to take things to the next level. Working closely with her unique style, budget, and the sweet, smart character of her blog (which provides amazing recipes based on weekly CSA provisions), we developed an identity for Little Gem– one that could function on the blog alone as well as expanded to all sorts of branding loveliness. We just finished this illustration of John Murray Spear’s “God Machine” for John Modern’s forthcoming book, SECULARISM in Antebellum America, with Reference to GHOSTS, Protestant Subcultures, MACHINES, and their Metaphors; featuring discussions of Mass Media, Moby-Dick, Spirituality, Phrenology, Anthropology, Sing Sing State Penitentiary, and SEX with the New Motive Power.

Yup, thats the book’s name. BAM!

Half-Full just launched a retro-fabulous site for Smilin’ Gal: one of Lancaster’s loveliest and most talented purveyors of vintage clothing. Check the site out here, then march right over to one of her locations to buy yourself some sweet new digs!

Chestnut Hill Cafe in Lancaster, PA recently installed the Rain Barrel I painted as a part of LIVE Green’s Auction last year. Rain barrels can reduce the amount of stormwater that enters the municipal sewer system and streams,  control moisture levels around the foundation of your home, provide oxygenated, un-chlorinated water which is ideal for plants, direct overflow water to where it will have the most beneficial impact and conserve a vital natural resource. I Like to pretend that I’m a big biker even though the biking radius I actually traverse from my house about a mile if i’m lucky. BUT, when I heard about the massive grant that Philly recently received for their bike path development I freaked! EXCELLENT NEWS!  A country-long green bike path from Maine to Key West? Sign me up!
